The Southern Falls Story

In 2008, Major League pitcher Jake Peavy decided to make a dream come true. Deep in the untouched forests of Wilcox County, Alabama, he found the perfect site to build a home for his family and a gathering place for friends far and wide. With a little inspiration - and no small amount of help from neighbors and relatives - he created his own piece of paradise, and he called it Southern Falls.

Today, Jake and family are proud to open the gates of Southern Falls to guests:  groups who are looking for the perfect wedding destination, an unforgettable corporate retreat, or just a weekend hunting in the deep woods. If the great outdoors are where you belong, we've got 5,000 acres of forests, falls, and riding trails to explore. If you'd rather "go wild" indoors, we've got a fully equipped saloon - complete with bowling alley, arcade, and live music stage.

Jake likes to tell his guests that Southern Falls is not "a place to be, but a way to be." We try to live that philosophy every day. You'll spend your days as you like - hunting, fishing, horseback riding, or playing baseball on our full-scale replica of Fenway Park. Evenings are for cookouts, jam sessions, and nights around the fire. And when you sleep, you'll sleep in total comfort:  we've got room for up to 75 people, and the interiors are the very best in southern craftsmanship and style.

If you've got an event in mind, we hope you'll come see us in Southern Falls. We think you'll find it's a great way to be.
